The Lord is preparing His body to walk in the measure of power and authority that He wants us to demonstrate in these times.
Recently, I had a series of three dreams back to back. In them, God revealed 3 areas of deliverance that He would have us receive now. I’ve dragged my feet on doing sharing this, because to say that I was told what to teach through a dream, can be problematic for many people.
We do preach the Word of God as set out in the Scriptures. I believe the Book has within in it every principle and revelation that we will ever need in this life. I also believe in supernatural revelation from the Holy Spirit in the form of dreams, visions, and prophetic words. Supernatural prophetic revelation enlightens us to a “now” word that will connect with the truth of the Scripture. Sometimes God uses the supernatural to get our thinking unstuck from a current paradigm. We then find the “new” truth in the scripture, by two or three witnesses, is so obvious we wonder how we could possibly have missed it before.
Such was the case with Peter when he had the trance vision on the roof of Simon’s house. God was preparing him to minister to the Gentiles at Cornelius’ house. The revelation that God was pouring out His Spirit on the Gentiles was a huge shift to the apostles’ thinking. Yet, once it happened, they realized that salvation to the Gentiles was a concept hidden throughout the Old Testament Scriptures.
The 3 areas of deliverance are as follows:
1. Deliverance and Restoration from Loss Caused by Overwhelming Circumstances.
Probably all of us have had sudden circumstances sweep through our lives leaving us with devastating results. Things may have happened that we didn’t foresee and we were seemingly powerless against them. Our lives may have been altered in a negative way. We may have lost relationships and have no personal ability to restore
Dream #1:
I stood in a doorway speaking to a close relative, a friend, and another person, as well. Suddenly a huge wave of water came from the right, sweeping away those I was speaking to and filling the entire doorway. I stared, shocked and grieving. “It’s all gone. I didn’t even get to say the things I desired to say to them.”
I opened the door again to see if there was anything I could possibly do, but there was only a wall of water on the other side of the door.
A moment later, not wanting to believe the situation was hopeless, I opened the door again. This time, to my amazement, there was a beautiful scene before me: sunny sky with a few fluffy white clouds, green grass, and flowers. I went through the doorway and around a corner. There were the people I thought I had lost, sitting quite happily while one had a small band-aid applied to their arm, the only evidence of the trauma they had gone through.
God is our delivering Power who is able to restore even from seemingly hopeless circumstances. The Lord we know so simply and intimately is the same God of wonders from the Book. Can He do the same delivering miracles for us?
For I will restore you to health and I will heal you of your wounds,’ declares the LORD
Jeremiah 30:17 NAS
Jeremiah 30:17 NAS
Instead of your shame you will have a double portion,
And instead of humiliation they will shout for joy over their portion.
Isaiah 61:7NAS
And instead of humiliation they will shout for joy over their portion.
Isaiah 61:7NAS
Then I will make up to you for the years that the swarming locust has eaten,
The creeping locust, the stripping locust, and the gnawing locust, my great army which I sent among you.
And you shall have plenty to eat and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God,
Who has dealt wondrously with you;
Joel 2:25-26 NAS
The creeping locust, the stripping locust, and the gnawing locust, my great army which I sent among you.
And you shall have plenty to eat and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God,
Who has dealt wondrously with you;
Joel 2:25-26 NAS
2. Deliverance from the Destructive Consequences of Personal Mistakes
We know that the Lord wants us to be responsible, mature people. As we grow in the Lord, we work hard at doing things “right”. Therefore, if we make mistakes, we tend to think that we must just suffer with our deserved consequences. After all, it’s our own fault for being so irresponsible, right?
Dream #2:
I was arriving home to a cottage-type building. I was dismayed to see that I had somehow left the door unlatched and it had popped open while I was gone. How could I have done something so irresponsible and careless? What a relief to see that the family dog was lying there, on a bed sleeping. The hand of God intervening, really.
(The beloved dog is a runner. We would never, ever, risk having him off a leash outside the yard. The one time he went missing a few years ago was traumatic for the family.)
We can be very hard on ourselves in demanding that we never fall short. We feel that we need to earn the right to be worthy of God’s trust. It’s much more important to relax, commune with the Lord at all times. We can trust His ability within us and His keeping power in everything that pertains to our lives. He’s plenty responsible; He’s also not worried about anything.
One time when Jesus’ disciples got into the boat with him, He wanted to teach them a little lesson about how to avoid the hypocrisy of the religious crowd. He said, “Watch out and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Even His disciples were religiously performance-oriented! They thought He was scolding them for forgetting to bring bread along on the trip. This thought was common among them, revealed by the fact that they were discussing it among themselves. They saw themselves as negligent in their responsibilities.
Here’s Jesus response (ok, so this is my personal paraphrase): Rolling His eyes, Jesus said to them, “What are you talking about? You were there when I fed five thousand people with five little loaves and you saw how many baskets of leftovers we picked up. You were there when I fed four thousand people with seven tiny loaves and you saw how many baskets of leftovers we picked up. How could you watch that and still not have faith in me as your Source? Quit worrying about stupid stuff and listen up; Don’t you’ll miss the point I’m trying to get across to you!” (Matt 16:5-11)
How many problems and issues are still unresolved for us because we haven’t figured out how to fix what we’ve messed up? His grace is sufficient for every weakness and inability. He’s not disgusted with you. How high a position that we can attain to in God is dependant on how openly and fully trust Him to be all He is to us and through us. Grace, grace, and more grace.
“For when I am weak , then I am strong.”
2 Corinthians 12:10
3. Authority to Throw off Intimidation of Other People and to Overturn the Attacks of the Enemy
These two issues are related. The work of the enemy is involved in both, even though it comes to us in different ways.
Dream #3
I walked into a room and there was a person I recognized there. This person was known for the critical, harsh, and demeaning words they used as weapons against others, including myself. When I entered the room, the person immediately turned in my direction and began making a rude, derogatory remark. I dismissed them with a wave of my hand and kept on walking. No longer would I affected in the slightest by them.
I then walked over to the wall where a young woman was standing. I was aware that this person had zapped me in the neck with a taser twice. Even though I hadn’t even fallen down, the attack was very annoying. I grabbed this person by the shirt collar, pressed her against the wall and yelled in her face, “You’ve tasered me two times; You’ve punched me in both eyes. Enough!!! I’m not going to put up with it any more!” And as I spoke to her, I punch her in the eye.
(I really don’t do things like that to people – even mean ones!)
The enemy uses the critical words and negative expectations of other people as weapons against us. Wounds in the soul and the fear of criticism hold us in place so we can’t advance in life. These weapons have been more effective against us than many of us realize.
Part of the spiritual armor that we are to put on are the shoes of the preparation of the gospel of peace.
And having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:15 NAS
Peace is complete well-being with nothing missing or damaged. Being prepared with the gospel of peace is to know experiencially, the well-being provided by our covenant with God in Christ. The example of the shoes is that of the spiked (1-1/2 – 3 inches) shoes of the Roman soldier. The shoes made the soldier sure-footed in battle. Also, when the troops were marching, they weren’t going to stop for anything. If you knew what was good for you, you’d get out of their way!
Having complete well-being of soul enables us to stand confidently and sure-footedly in life, whatever comes. The enemy cannot easily knock our feet out from under us. We’re on the move in the mission of God. Watch out! We’re not afraid of anything.
The other area we have authority over is the direct harassing attacks of the enemy. These pesky attacks can rob our time, attention, and resources. Often, the source of the problem goes undetected so we fail to take action against it. Ask God to open your eyes to what’s really going on. Take authority over harassment and the spirit behind
it.
“Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions , and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall injure you.
Luke 10:19
NAS
Let’s receive our full deliverance! If God is for us, who can be against us? Who can be our foe, if God is on our side? (Romans 8:31 Amplified)
